Product Description
FAS American Tulipwood (Planed All Round)
Planed Tulipwood is very light, and easy to work with which makes it ideal for joinery, interior trim, light construction and toys. Its colours vary from olive green to yellow or brown and is supplied in FAS Quality Grade.
The very nature of Tulipwood makes it easy to work with and for interior work like sills, skirting boards and architrave you won’t find better value for money. The timber is easily painted, takes nails well without a tendency to split and glues well as well. So, it is an ideal timber for all your interior trim needs.
Our Planed Tulipwood is machined to order and is provided slightly over length so that it can be cut down on site. The two ends have a rough sawn finish and are planed to a smooth finish on the four long sides of the wood. It is important to enter your exact cutting list when working out prices in order to get the right price. For instance, if you order 4m lengths to cut down to 2m lengths then the one piece will cost more than the two (it’s also worth mentioning that your timber will most likely be supplied overlength anyway).
The Tulipwood Tree
Tulipwood is from eastern parts of Northern and Eastern America and is also known as Poplar wood. The tree can grow to be over 35m tall and over 2m in diameter. The tree is shade-intolerant and doesn’t survive well when flooded for long periods of time. Another problem for Tulipwood is when vines grow around them, not only do they block out sunlight but they also weight down branches forcing them to bend and break.
FAS QUALITY
We supply the highest quality, FAS Grade, Planed Tulipwood. Only found in American, African and some European species, FAS quality grade is rightly sought after and is derived from the original First and Second Grade.
At iWood Timber Merchants, we have built our reputation on supplying the highest quality timber, ensuring you have the highest amount of usable American Tulipwood possible from your order.
