Product Description
Cut to Size Iroko
Our cut to size Iroko wood & timber products (also called sawn to size) are literally sawn down to your chosen measurements and come straight off the saw with no machining performed to the edges, unlike our planed products. Cut to size Iroko is supplied square edged in your nominal sizes, ready for you to machine and shape to your requirements.
When working with Iroko timber the wood can have a dulling effect on tools, but for the most part it is fairly workable. The wood does take screws and nails well and can be glued. Treating the timber can be difficult, however, the wood can be left untreated if you want it to turn silver grey if used externally and exposed to sunlight.
Iroko is a tropical hardwood that is often used as a more cost-effective alternative to Teak and can be used in similar ways (although Iroko doesn’t have the same levels of durability). Iroko can be used for ship and boat-building, light flooring, interior and exterior joinery, window frames, sills, stair treads, fire-proof doors, laboratory benches, furniture, carvings, marine uses such as piling, dock and harbour work.
iWood - The premier supplier of Iroko wood in the UK
Sawn to Size Iroko is ideal if you don’t have the facility to cut timber down in-house.
At iWood Timber Merchants have built our reputation on supplying quality timber, ensuring you have the greatest percentage of usable Iroko timber possible from your order. Sawn to Size Iroko is ideal if you don’t have the facility to cut timber down in-house. Our cut to size timber is untreated and is dried in kilns to remove moisture content.
The timber is supplied in the FAS grade and is a rich golden brown in colour. This is the highest grade of Iroko you can get and ensures that your end product is of the highest quality.

Delivery costs
Delivery cost varies by location. Please

in a new window.
Delivery day
Our delivery lorries visit different parts of the country on different days, so once your order is ready we will work with you to arrange a delivery day for when one of our lorries is in your area. We will always arrange the delivery day in advance with you.
Delivery times
We deliver weekdays Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Our delivery vehicles will have multiple jobs on them which can affect the delivery time to you, depending on factors such as traffic and how long it takes to offload the previous jobs. The driver will call you in advance with an estimated time of arrival to make sure you'll be there.
Offloading
Aside from delivery locations that are priced on application, your delivery will be provided with means of offloading from the truck. This may be by HIAB (lorry with a crane arm), or by supplied manpower. The method will be determined by the haulage company we use based on your location and available options at the time. Please note, both offload options will drop your order to the side of the lorry, they won't be able to carry it around the back of a property, for example.
For areas that are priced on application, by default, we will quote for delivery on a flat-bed lorry that you'll need to arrange to offload yourself. We can quote for offloading on request, but to these areas it's usually prohibitively expensive, and cheaper for you to hire a forklift, or arrange to have enough people on-site to offload.
The ordering process
After placing your order securely online you receive an email confirming the items you have ordered. When your order has arrived at iWood HQ and is ready for dispatch, we will give you a call to arrange delivery.
Can I order samples?
Yes you can, you can order samples of certain timbers at www.iwood.co.uk/sample-request/.
If the species you need isn't there please give us a call or talk to us on our online chat.
The timbers shown are planed all round samples and are not profiled.
