FAS Sawn to Size American Black Walnut Wood
Our cut to size Black Walnut timber products (also called sawn to size) are literally sawn down to your chosen measurements and come straight off the saw with no machining performed to the edges, unlike our planed products.
Black Walnut wood is a temperate hardwood and used for furniture, cabinets, gun stocks and musical instruments. The FAS grade American Black Walnut that we supply is the highest grade of Black Walnut that we can supply and can vary in colour from chocolate brown to a purplish black.
The timber is easily worked and polished, so it is ideal for internal joinery, and the look and colour make it highly sought after. American Black Walnut is considered moderately durable and is resistant to rot. It is most commonly used internally.
Ordering Cut to Size American Black Walnut
When ordering cut to size American black walnut you need to enter the nominal sizes that you would like to work from. Your timber will be then sawn down to your chosen measurements ready for you to work with. The boards supplied will be slightly over length for cutting down on site.
Our sawn to size products are priced around a changing m3 rate based around the length of the boards. Due to longer lengths being harder to produce there is often a big difference between a 2m and 4m length (for example) which means that it is cheaper to buy two smaller pieces rather than one big piece for you to cut down yourself.
If you need bigger sizes than what we offer, please contact us. We can sometimes find larger sizes, however, the availability is not always there.
At iWood Timber Merchants we have built our reputation on supplying top quality timber, ensuring you have the greatest amount of usable Black Walnut possible from your order.

Our delivery lorries visit different parts of the country on different days, so once your order is ready we will work with you to arrange a delivery day for when one of our lorries is in your area. We will always arrange the delivery day in advance with you.
We deliver weekdays Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Our delivery vehicles will have multiple jobs on them which can affect the delivery time to you, depending on factors such as traffic and how long it takes to offload the previous jobs. The driver will call you in advance with an estimated time of arrival to make sure you'll be there.
Aside from delivery locations that are priced on application, your delivery will be provided with means of offloading from the truck. This may be by HIAB (lorry with a crane arm), or by supplied manpower. The method will be determined by the haulage company we use based on your location and available options at the time. Please note, both offload options will drop your order to the side of the lorry, they won't be able to carry it around the back of a property, for example.
For areas that are priced on application, by default, we will quote for delivery on a flat-bed lorry that you'll need to arrange to offload yourself. We can quote for offloading on request, but to these areas it's usually prohibitively expensive, and cheaper for you to hire a forklift, or arrange to have enough people on-site to offload.
The ordering process
