FAS Sawn to Size American Tulipwood Timber
Tulipwood / Poplar is ideal for joinery, including doors, interior trim, light construction, boats and toys. This lightweight timber is easy to work with and shape which is what makes it so popular with Joiners. Tulipwood takes a paint well and is easy to treat which is why it is commonly used for skirting and architrave, as you are likely to gloss over the top of the wood.
Our cut to size American Tulipwood timber products (also called sawn to size) are literally sawn down to your chosen measurements and come straight off the saw with no machining performed to the edges, unlike our planed products. When choosing your measurements, you should enter your nominal sizes so that the wood is ready for you to work on.
Working with Tulipwood
We supply cut to size timber untreated and kiln dried to remove moisture content. Sawn American Tulipwood is ideal if you don’t have the facility to cut timber down in-house. American Tulipwood is supplied in FAS Grade and varies in colour from olive green to yellow or brown.
The timber can be glued, nailed (when nailing use stainless steel nails) and finished well. Poplar is also capable of holding hard enamel finishes.
At iWood Timber Merchants, we have built our reputation on supplying quality timber, ensuring you have the greatest percentage of usable American Tulipwood possible from your order.
