Sawn to Size (FAS) American Cherry Wood
Due to its beautiful grain and colour iWood's American Cherry is ideal for furniture and cabinet-making. Cherry wood is also used for pattern-making, musical instruments, interiors for boats and high-class joinery.
The colour of American Cherry wood ranges from a reddish brown to rich red colour. The timber contains some pin-knots but is generally a clean timber which lends itself to interior joinery.
Our cut to size American Cherry timber products (also called sawn to size) are literally sawn down to your chosen measurements and come straight off the saw with no machining performed to the edges, unlike our planed products. So, it is ideal if you want to work on your timber from start to finish. The wood takes a finish well and can be turned satisfactorily.
In the cutting list builder above we have set the following limits for you order timber between:
Thickness – Min: 25mm, Max: 76mm
Width – Min: 25mm, 200mm
Length – Min: 0.4m, Max: 4m
At iWood Timber Merchants we have built our reputation on supplying quality timber, and make sure you have the top % of usable American Cherry timber as possible from your delivery.
Our cut to size cherry wood is untreated and is most commonly dried in kilns to remove moisture content. Sawn to size American Cherry is ideal if you don’t have the facility to cut timber down in-house.
American Cherry Distribution
The tree can be found throughout America ranging from Florida to Ontario and Dakota to Texas. The tree grows most efficiently where there is plenty of sunlight rather than dense forest areas.
