Engineered Oak
Prime Quality
European Oak
This kiln dried grade is very clean and is the pick of the best, mostly knot-free timber. On occasions where there are knots they will only be tiny.
Light Character
European Oak
This kiln dried grade will have some knots but no large dead knots.
Rustic
European Oak
Rustic grade oak has many large knots and is often used for its attractive appearance.
A 1 Face
European Oak
One side of the board is graded to Prime, and the other to a lower grade. The Prime side will be the pick of the 'cleanest', mostly knot-free oak. The oak is kiln dried.
A 1 Face is ideal if you're making a product only seen from on face, such as flooring, cladding, fascias etc, as you don't need the back face to be the same quality. You get Prime Quality Oak for a lower price.
B 1 Face
European Oak
One side of the board is graded to Light Character and the other side to a lower grade. Light Character will have more knots than Prime quality, but no large dead knots. The oak is kiln dried.
B 1 Face is ideal if you're making a product only seen from one side, such as flooring, cladding, fascias etc, as you don't need the same quality on the back face. You get Light Character timber for a lower price.
