Prime Quality European Ash Planed All Round Timber
As one of the most common trees in Europe, Ash is used regularly in shop fitting, furniture and cabinet making. We supply planed all round European Ash to your dimensions ready for you to work with (usually the planks are supplied over length for you to cut down on site). The grade of European Ash we supply is Prime Quality, it is typically straight grained and pale-brown in colour.
Due to its shock resistance European Ash is also commonly used for tools and sports equipment such as mallets and snooker cues. This variety of use for the timber makes it highly desirable as the timber is good to work with and can be machined well. Ash also takes well to gluing, staining and polishing.
We can provide Ash between 1m-4m long and up to 74mm x 194mm (EX 80mm x 200mm) in section size. We can sometimes supply bigger sizes so please feel free to ask however they may not be available. When entering your cutting list to find prices please enter the exact finished sizes you require. This will save you money and prevent you from having to plane down further on site. Also, if you order over length, you may be paying a higher m3 price than for the length you need.

The European Ash Tree
The tree stands up to 35m tall and often grows in groups forming a domed canopy. An Ash tree typically has male and female flowers on separate trees, although, there are instances where the male and female occupy different branches on the same tree.
Two identifying features of Ash trees are the clusters of seeds and purple flowers which flower before its leaves return in the spring. Interestingly European Ash’s also lose their leaves while they are still green.

Delivery Costs
Delivery costs vary by location, and you can view a full range of prices for UK mainland on our deliveries page. For other areas such as Northern Ireland, Rebublic of Ireland, Isle of Man, etc please call us on 01889 597 281 for a delivery price.
Delivery day
Our delivery lorries visit different parts of the country on different days, so once your order is ready we will work with you to arrange a delivery day for when one of our lorries is in your area. We will always arrange the delivery day in advance with you.
Delivery times
We deliver weekdays Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Our delivery vehicles will have multiple jobs on them which can affect the delivery time to you, depending on factors such as traffic and how long it takes to offload the previous jobs. The driver will call you in advance with an estimated time of arrival to make sure you'll be there.
The ordering process
After placing your order securely online you receive an email confirming the items you have ordered. When your order has arrived at iWood HQ and is ready for dispatch, we will give you a call to arrange delivery.
Can I order samples?
Yes you can, you can order samples of certain timbers online. If the species you need isn't there please give us a call or talk to us on our online chat.
The timbers shown are planed all round samples and are not profiled.
